May Day for Grant Applications! This Time, Film and TV

We're not alone! We've come across another suggestion that you spend your Bank Holiday profitably, by applying for grant funding. This one's the Scottish Film Talent Network, promoting Scottish Shorts 2017.
(Meanwhile, the Whittaker Library is still open, whether you have assignments to write or the next film short to research and author!)

Get Funding to Travel! "Travel to learn – return to inspire ..." with Winston Churchill Memorial Trust

Winston Churchill Memorial Trust

Apply for a travelling fellowship! There are various categories - Education is a likely one for our Royal Conservatoire of Scotland community, though some of our production artists might also look at the Crafts and Makers, or Designers categories.

But be quick. The deadline is 20th September.  We're really sorry not to have told you about this one sooner, but it has only just come across our radar.  We promise to do better next time.

Click this link! http://www.wcmt.org.uk/

We are the very helpful Whittaker Library, here to support the creative endeavours of our performing and production artists here at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Seeking Funding for Creative Arts In Scotland?

Creative Scotland has released an Update on Regular Funding.  This will be for funding 2018-2021.  It's a question of waiting for further announcements, but do bookmark this link!

The update begins:-
"We are currently still aiming to open the next round of our Regular Funding Programme for applications in Autumn 2016, with a submission deadline in late Spring 2017 and funding decisions in Autumn 2017 ..."  more ...
There is also a page with Current Opportunities, which is worth a look, too.

Revival and inspiration for academics?

Missenden Centre

"Over 25 years we have built a reputation for offering small groups of academic and support staff the opportunity to address current concerns. Now we have responded to our participants’ enthusiasm by adding an ambitious and exciting new concept to our programme: the Missenden Masterclasses. This offers enterprising universities the opportunity of promoting their commitment to academic staff with the most promising research ideas, by providing an opportunity to gain insights into research funding and converting their idea into a fundable bid."  Read the rest on the Missenden Centre website.
