Welcome to the Whittaker Library ... Meet Twittaker!

After a recent library display, our library mascot Twittaker decided to take charge of the exhibits.  Here's what happened ...
Twittaker reports that his 'students' were very attentive, and learned a lot about the library.  (He showed them our shiny new library catalogue, too, but we didn't catch them searching it ...)

It's Library Tour Time at the Whittaker Library!

Have you visited us yet?

This is the week when the library welcomes dozens of eager new music, drama, film and TV, ballet  and theatre production students.

Our new students are warmly encouraged to come and hear about how we support our learners and their teachers.  There's a timetable by the door, but we usually run a couple of extra sessions the following week in case anyone missed out.

Has the library got a ghost? Well, you'll just have to visit us to find out!

Elevator Pitch - The Whittaker Library at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland

Another round of freshers' tours over!  We're running late induction sessions between Monday 30 September and Friday 4 October at 3.30 pm

If I was given the length of an elevator ride in which to tell you about the Whittaker Library, what would I tell you?

Three things!
  • We're a friendly, helpful library staff, and there are subject librarians to offer subject assistance in music, drama and dance.
  • The printed library guides are also available on Mahara.  If you've signed up for your Moodle account, then you'll be able to find Mahara and the Library group.
  • Course reading lists are on Moodle itself, under the modules you're studying.

So - what did you think?

Sofas IN THE LIBRARY?!
We've shown about half of the new students round the Whittaker Library so far.  We do our best to be interesting and entertaining.  So - what did you think? Marks out of 10 for interest and entertainment value?   (No - I don't dance, or I'd do a wee song and dance routine as well.  Sorry!)
