Jazz and the Jitterbug

.

.
.
We're adding a batch of early-to-mid twentieth century popular piano pieces and songs to stock at the moment.  It seemed like a good idea to hunt out YouTube versions, to bring them to life.  All went well until we reached Joe Garland's "In the Mood", which was hugely popular. Played by Glen Miller and his Orchestra, it generated sung versions, foxtrots, and ... the jitterbug.  Well, this was 1939, World War II, and the jitterbug was a particular kind of bomb.  The song comes complete with a ballroom routine giving the dance steps for the Jitterbug dance.

Ballroom dancing not being a specialism for this particular cataloguer, we throw the opportunity open to everyone else.  Who would like to learn this very unique, almost frenzied dance?!

It'll be shelved at M1622 G
