Over the sea from Skye ...

The Glasgow Skye Association has kindly gifted a number of Gaelic books to the Whittaker Library, including Gaelic dictionaries, and a new edition of Sorley MacLean's 'From Wood to Ridge'. There's also a DVD, 'Journey of the Psalms', by broadcaster and Mod Gold Medallist Mary Ann Kennedy, and CDs by Fiona Mackenzie and Seonag Niccoinnich. John Purser - Scotland's Music (new edition)

Last year came the eagerly-awaited second edition of John Purser's definitive book, Scotland's Music. It accompanies the BBC radio series, Scotland's Music - A Radio History, which won the Scots Trad Music Awards 2007 Services to Industry Award. The Whittaker Library has obtained two copies of this book - one is available to staff and students for short loan, and the other is to be a reference copy.
